GMES Warrior Update

April 3rd, 2026

Hello GMES Families!

GMES School

As we head into April, there’s a lot of excitement in the air at school! 🌸 The days are getting brighter, students are working hard, and our classrooms are full of learning, creativity, and fun. We’re proud of the effort our students continue to show each day.

With Spring Break here, we hope everyone is looking forward to some well-deserved time to relax, recharge, and spend time with family and friends. Before we head off for the break, we still have a few exciting activities and learning opportunities ahead that our students are eager to enjoy.

Thank you for your continued support in making our school such a positive and welcoming place for all students. We wish all of our families a wonderful and restful Spring Break! 🌷

Principal Message

Dear GMES Families,

It was amazing to see so many families attend Conferences! If you weren't able to make it, please reach out to your student's teacher.

When we return from Spring Break, we will only have three weeks before our students' have a chance to "Do Your Best on the Test!"

Please enjoy a safe and relaxing Spring Break!

Sincerely,

Dan Aragon

Why is it that some people seem to be born with a natural confidence and others have to work to get it? I have no answers for that question but as my fellow educators will attest, confidence is a huge boost for academic, social/emotional and career success. Here are 25 ideas to boost your child’s confidence.

1.Ensure they know your love is unconditional

2.Give age appropriate responsibilities around the house

Address them by their name

Give them “special tasks” to help you

Join their play and let them lead

Focus on improving your own confidence

Ask them for advice or their opinion

8.Make special time together

Let them make age appropriate choices

Set aside time to give them undivided attention

11.Encourage them to try theater or a performance class

12. Give specific praise

13. Let them overhear you speaking positively about them to others

14.Resist comparing them to others

15.Practice positive self talk with them

16.Hang their portraits or artwork around the house

17.Teach them how to set and achieve goals

18.Encourage them to try new things to develop new skills

19.Help them discover their interests and passions

20.Help them overcome their fear of failure

21.Encourage them to express their feelings

22.Make sure they know you are upset with their choices, not who they are

23.Surround them with positive, confident people(including their friends)

24.Create a Wall of Fame to recognize their achievements

25.Shower them with hugs

When I talk to kids about their relationships with their parents the number one thing that comes up is: “My parents don’t spend time with me, they are always too busy.” This time with kids goes by too fast, even a few minutes of focused time is cherished by your children. Take the time.
